As Place Director with Place Foundry, Jeff leads infrastructure planning and technical analysis for urban development initiatives, bringing 14 years of engineering and project management expertise to the team's planning and development portfolio. His current work spans from the City of Danville Comprehensive Plan to the Roscoe Economic Development Strategy, while he dives deep into the Regional Water Quality Report for Region 1 Planning Council—a project that reflects his passion for protecting this critical community resource.

Jeff's path to placemaking started with family influence—three older siblings and a parent in engineering made the field seem like a natural choice during high school. While he didn't have a burning calling initially, once he began working, stormwater management and flood control captured his interest completely. This technical foundation, which includes significant regional initiatives like the Rockford Stormwater Master Plan and Cedar Rapids Flood Control System, naturally evolved into planning work that perfectly suits his love of learning and broad interests.

What energizes Jeff most is community engagement—meeting people through stakeholder processes and learning something new from every conversation. His technical skills in stormwater modeling, flood mitigation, and GIS are formidable, but he considers his ability to truly listen to clients and work through practical solutions his most valuable asset. This laser focus on what clients actually need keeps them coming back.

When he's not protecting watersheds or crafting comprehensive plans, Jeff follows soccer leagues around the world—a sport he's played most of his life.
